- Motion Planning Algorithm
- A large part of my previous research is dedicated to motion planning algorithms, exploring different capabilities and constraints. Generally speaking, motion planning algorithms guide robots to move from a start location to a goal location. In this area, you will be developing new motion planning algorithms, and/or making improvements towards previous algorithms. The algorithms could be generally applicable to mobile robots or manipulators.
- Task and Motion Planning
- Task and motion planning integrates high-level decision-making (task planning) with low-level physical actions (motion planning). Task and motion planning has wide applications, and there are a lot to be done in this area.
- Teleoperation
- While full autonomy is not quite in the picture, teleoperation or shared autonomy with robots is a great way to perform tasks in hazardous environments. Removing radioactive waste is one such example. We have a funded traineeship program accross campuses. Check for more information here.
